But...
Um, true confession...
Liked Newsweek.
Past tense. Yes, liked.
No, didn't cancel my subscription. Hey, who doesn't love sounding smart at parties after reading Fareed Zakaria (and the rest of the pages and pages of analysis), but is it me? Where is the news? I miss the old Newsweek.
Thoughts?
My subscription to Newsweek expired recently. This is no big deal to me because I never read it very thoroughly. I do not remember ever renewing my subscription or paying a bill, but the issues kept coming. My guess is that Newsweek wanted to pad their subscriber list in order to entice more advertisers.
ReplyDeleteI do not expect to subscribe to Newsweek again,
but this decision has nothing to do with the "reinvented and rethought" edition. However, I do think that the concept is a good idea, and simply a matter of Jon Meacham facing facts.
I will check out an issue on a newsstand and see what I think.
Well, reading it these days makes me feel like a policy expert. Not my goal, trust me. They have gone much more niche. You are right, guess they have to to survive. Looking forward to hearing what you think.
